Ok we'll see how long this journal thing lasts, all other journals I've ever tried to do have lasted about 2 days. I actually cooked a full dinner for tonight, amazing (trust me it is when you have no money, no time, and McDonald's is 2 minutes away). Last night we had a clinic on triathlons at work, and now about 5 of us are committed to do the Las Vegas Triathlon in September. If anyone will be around on the 25th please come down and cheer us on, I'll have details later. But now that I'm committed I have to excerice. Work starts at 4:30, I'm leaving at 2:30 to bike for the first time to work for the first time on my new bike (Novara Buzz). It's about 5 miles away, not to mention I have to shower when I get there (it's 100 outside, of course I'm going to sweat!). Finally got to watch the last day of the Tour de France four days after it happened. That got me motivated. I watched the time trials live which were much more exciting, but you got to watch the last day too!! Kris (my manager) and Nancy (one of our bikers at work) got me into the Tour when we were up in Seattle. Next year I watch it all (I might have cable by then).
Outside of my life....my sister is officially engaged and a wedding set for next summer. I may even be an aunt in under two years. IT'S ABOUT TIME!
Ok back to me. I finally made it up to the peak of Mount Charleston. 11,918 feet. There were some major avalanches in Kyle Canyon this winter and part of the south loop trail is wiped out. Kris and I got lost, went past the Cathedral Rock trail we think, but then the trail dead ended at an avalanche shoot. So we just climbed straight up. Normally it's about 8 miles to the summitt, we did about 6 point something miles. I would not recommend doing it, but it was awesome for us (since all you do on Rainier is go straight up). We were stupid and did it with thunderheads above us. About 15 minutes from the summit we heard thunder and I wanted to turn around, but Kris kept going and I wasn't going to turn around on my own. We made, clouds cleared in five minutes.....and it was a beautiful hike down on the north loop (we tried to do the north loop up in May when there was record snow). Altitude sucks, but I kept up pretty well with Kris and was only 2 minutes behind him to the top. And I didn't blow chunks alongside the road like Kevin and I have now done (me Charleston, him Rainier). We're trying to go to Zion to watch the meteor showers from Angels Landing, do the Subway and the Barracks, but things are kind of falling apart, so we'll see.
Wow I actually had something to talk about, amazing.

Hey Jessie!
You are CRAZY! I would have went running away with my tail between my legs if I had heard thunder up on the sumit of a large mountain. Were you trying to destroy the one ring or something? *chuckles* You sound like you are having a good time. I'm doing nothing but school and work so enjoy it! Thanks again for the Half Blood Prince :)-Krista =^.^=
